Our next event will now be held on Sunday 3rd November Please note change of date.
November 3rd. 11.00am Herd Visit to Nick Avery’s Moaaga Herd of Dexters at Grove Farm, Cold Aston, Gloucestershire GL54 3BJ.
We first visited Nicks herd in 2022 and it will be really interesting to see how his herd and business has developed over the last two years.
Nicks Dexters form an integral part of the holistic management of his farm as a whole. The herd graze the species rich pasture on the farm year round and range over relatively large areas. Our meeting place on the farm at 11am on the 3rd November will be dependant on the location of the main herd. Nick will provide more details and a What3Words location nearer the time of the visit that I will pass on. The MDG banners will also be placed at the end of Nicks lane. If members would like to come to see the herd but have limited mobility please let me know and we will see what can be arranged, but this will be dependent on where the Dexters are grazing at the time.
The herd visit will be followed by Sunday lunch in Nicks pub, The Plough Inn, Cold Aston.
Nick will be providing a set meal consisting of a Roast Dexter Beef Sunday Lunch followed by Apple and Blackberry Crumble.
The cost of the 2 courses will be £25 and if only the main meal is required this will be £20.
Unfortunately Nick will be closing his restaurant after the 3rd November so this will be our last chance to enjoy his delicious Dexter beef!
Please let me know if you are intending to come on the herd visit and if you will be joining us for Sunday lunch by Saturday 26th October at the latest.
